I took the Advocare Plunge.
You guys, I just placed my first Advocare order. I am so ready for it to get here, and begin a healthier lifestyle. I know I can do it without Advocare, but why not start with a bang? My sister recently introduced me to Advocare about a month ago. She started with Spark, and after much convincing on her part, I finally tried one. And, you know what, it was amazing. I was very hesitant about it, I don't drink energy drinks because of the controversy around them, and the stuff that is in them can't be good for you. So I figured spark was just another energy drink. But it isn't. It is full of vitamins that give you a balance of energy, with no crash. Seriously, amazing.
My sister loved her spark so much, she decided to become an advisor, and she quickly ordered the 24 day challenge. Her and her husband started the challenge a week ago today, and they have nothing bad to say about the cleanse, okay I take that back, I heard the fiber drink isn't all that great, but you don't have to drink it everyday, so that is a plus. I saw them yesterday when we celebrated my moms birthday, and they both look and feel amazing! They have lost noticeable weight and they look energized and refreshed.
I knew after that, I had to jump on the bandwagon, plus, I was seeing it worked first hand. How could I not do it now?
So, I took the plunge and did it. I spent some of my hard earned moolah and I know I am going to miss my coffee, cheese, bread, and sweets at first. But you know what, I am not going to miss those after 24 days. That stuff is crap and not good for my body. I am ready for a new healthier me.
It will take about a week for my order to get here, that is a perfect amount of time to start meal planning and getting food prepped, and maybe sneak one last chipotle burrito bowl. ;-)
Who is ready to follow me along on my new chapter? I hope to post my struggles and successes along the way....

Friday Letters #11
ITS FRIDAY!
Yay. It seemed like it took forever to get here, even though I only worked 4 days this week.
But, I got some major things checked off my to-do list at work. Phew.
And, I hope this weekend is better than the last.
It's time for Friday Letters to kick start my Friday!
Dear Spring: Southern Oregon welcomed you with wind, dark grey clouds, a rainbow, rain and even blue skies periodically. I captured those moments.
Love that these trees are blooming all over the valley. |
Rainbow at work. So Pretty. |
Dear JT & JF: Seriously, amazing. I must have laid in bed laughing for over an hour watching YouTube videos of your week together. History of Rap V. 4 happened. And, the summer camp sketch - my favorite. Hilar.
You need to watch them.:
You're Welcome.
Dear LiLo: Somehow, you got off easy, again. Please take the help you are given and actually do something good with it this time. I mean really, 6 mugshots is pretty bad for only being in your mid-twenties. Heck, 6 mugshots is pretty bad for any age.
Dear Duke: Please don't disappoint. I chose you as the big winner on my bracket...along with 2 other guys I work with... not bad for a first timer, eh? I wanna win me some moolah!
Obviously this was before I filled it out. But now Duke is in the champion box. |
Dear H&R Block: Thank you for making my tax filing painless. It took 35-40 minutes and it was easy peasy. And, I am getting a nice return. Yah.
Dear Monday Night TV: Dancing with the Stars, The Voice, & The Following? My DVR only records 2 shows at a time, whatever will I do?! Decisions Decisions....
via| This is an addicting show, love it. |
Dear Ulta: Thank you for having a sale on Urban Decay Eye Primer... I just couldn't spend $20 on primer... but $10 I can do. If you guys haven't tried this stuff, it is seriously amazing. And, yes it keeps my eye makeup on ALL day. It is worth every penny, even if it is $20.
Dear Coconut Oil: You are simply amazing. You are doing amazing things to my face. And, you are easy on my wallet. Score.
Linking up with the adorable Ashley.

Tuesday Topics: No Changing my Mind!
I have a total case of the Mondays today. But hey, it’s Tuesday and that is one daycloser to Friday (I am good at stating the obvious, obviously). I tookyesterday off of work, and boy oh boy, was today a Monday, even though it isTuesday (there I go again). But tomorrow will be better, yes it will. But you know what would make it even better? If it were actually going to be nice out and the sun was shining. But it won’t be. We have been treated with blue skies and nicewarm weather the last couple weeks, but now that spring will be here tomorrow…the skies are grey and the rain is rolling in. They always say; if you don’tlike the weather in Oregon, wait 5 minutes… because it will change (you guys,it hasn’t changed all day – what gives?). So, here is to hoping the sun willmake an appearance tomorrow, although, it is highly unlikely.
So, with it being Monday Tuesday, that means it istime for Tuesday Topics!
9 Things I won’tChange My Mind On.
1. Love for my family & friends
My youngest nephew Casey. As you can see, he is losing teeth right and left. |
2. Hope for a great future
Ya know, the house, marriage, and kiddos.
3. Always being honest
Honesty is the best policy. Always.
Honesty is the best policy. Always.
4. Believing in myself
5. Reality TV
I love me some Jersey Housewives.

6. Love for Coffee
7. My Beliefs
9. Being an animal lover
Who can't love little furry animals? I mean, come on!

Tuesday Topics: 10 Pins.
You guys, the weather has been BEAU-TI-FUL here lately. The sun has been shining for days.... and today, when I got off work, it was 71*! Yah. Keep it up Mother nature, Keep it up!
Thanks so much.
So.....my blogging has been very sporadic these days, but that doesn't mean I don't check my dashboard daily (okay, lets be serious, I check it multiple times a day, everyday) and read all your fabulous blogs! Needless to say, I was happy to see that Lauren & Tiffany were hosting another round of Tuesday Topics and I thought I would join in. Hopefully this time, I will actually post all 10 weeks.
Here's what the topics are this time:

Just what I needed.
Little blog o’mine - It has been a whole two and a half weeks since I have filled this page with my words. Life gets busy or I get lazy… one or the other ... or maybe it’s a combo of both.
Yes, it is a combo of both.
Okay, on the good stuff.
A couple weekends ago I went to visit Sasha & Sydney for a girls weekend. Mike, Sasha’s husband was out of town for work, so it was perfect to have a girls weekend. I was excited when she initially invited me up, and as long as the weather held up - I was so there. And, the weather couldn't have been greater.
Blue skies and sunshine all the way up.
Blue skies and sunshine all the way up.
It was nice to get out of town for a couple days. Especially to visit with my bestie and niece that I don't see nearly enough. Sydney has grown so much, it is crazy how fast babies grow. She turned 9 months old while I was there! It was great to see them both in their own environment, Sasha is a great momma & Sydney is such a good baby. It is amazing to see their bond. Its just like a what a mom and daughter should be like, only it's better.
How could this face not make you smile?! |
Sitting pretty. |
Sydney & Auntie! |
Sydney is a little eating, crawling, talking machine. Man oh Man, she is so cute.
And, that smile of hers, it is just infectious.
And, that smile of hers, it is just infectious.
What a beautiful smile she has! |
Playing with mom and auntie before bed! |
How adorable are those pajamas? Not as adorable as she is! |
We also did a little shopping while I was visiting, we went to this really cute outdoor shopping area in Hillsboro called Streets of Tanasbourne. 'The Streets' had major stores and cutesy boutiques. It was nice to walk around and do a little window shopping (and inside shopping), although it didn't last long, because it started to rain. Rain in Portland, weird right? So we hopped back on one freeway, to another freeway, then finally another freeway and back to Sasha's we went. Seriously, I don't know how you big city people do it with the traffic and freeways. Power (and sanity) to ya. ; )
Later that night, we had a great girls dinner at the Claim Jumper.
Sydney was little miss sociable and wanted to talk to everyone. It was cute.

After Syd went to bed that night we broke out the wine and a slice of heavenly cake from the Claim Jumper. It is called Chocolate Motherlode Cake. While we were waiting for our check, Sasha was looking at the calorie menu… yeah, not such a good idea. Do you know how many calories this thing had in it??? 2768 calories! And, 54 grams of saturated fat. Seriously, crazy. Luckily we only had a slice each of the “slice”. Paired with some Rose Jolee and it was a perfect end to the day. While watching ER:NY. That stuff is cray. It was fun to stay in and just chat, like friends do. Its good for the soul, ya know?
It was nice to take a mini vacation. I came back to work that following Monday very refreshed. Sometimes, I think that it's better to take a couple days off and free your mind of everyday troubles and stresses. Yay for friends who can make your mind escape everything that is going on. Thank you friend, I had a blast, and you were, as always, a great hostess. I miss you!

This N' That V. 2
You guys, today is my Friday. That makes me a pretty happy girl.
Yay for a 3 day weekend...
I am going to go spend with my bff and her beautiful daughter.
Woot Woot.

I am going to the dentist THIS afternoon for a filling. I am totally freaking out. I am petrified of the dentist. I hope I'm freaking out for nothing and all will go smoothly... : /
Send good vibes my way pleeeease.
I am so disappointed THAT Hostess is out of business.
I have been craving some mini crumb donuts and they are no where to be found. I don't want some weird off brand either. Psh.
I am so excited that THIS weekend I am visiting my bestie and her beautiful daughter in Portland. Thank you weather for cooperating. I am looking forward to hanging out with them.
It is hard being 4 hours away from your best friend & niece.
I love THAT I had dinner with an old friend Wednesday night and we picked up right were we left off. I am so glad she decided to move back home to Southern Oregon with her (new-ish) husband.
THIS season of The Bachelor is nuts. I love Sean, but his choices? Tierra is still here, come on already. He deserves so much better. I really like Lyndsy and not just because she has an awesome name.
I was totally THAT girl that fell at work this week. Cute new boots and slick flooring really don't go well together. But, I learned that I can do the splits - hahah. Found that out the hard way. Talk about embarrassing - luckily only a couple people saw me rock my moves. lol
THIS whole saving money thing is a lot harder than I thought. My savings account should have a lot more in it, but somehow it doesn't. I swear I have cut back on shopping and sorts - where did that extra money go?
I was pretty annoyed THAT my post from yesterday didn't post in the dashboard until 9 hours later. Um, what is with that? Has that happened to any of you guys?
Happy Thursday!
I hope you all have a great weekend.
xo,
Lindsay

Tuesday Topics - Week 5
It's Tuesday!
Whew, did yesterday fly by or what? I know it did for me. This week, Tuesday Topics are 5 activities from my hometown. I am really excited to see what others post for their areas. I decided to list 5 activities in Southern Oregon, as we are surrounded by tons to do!
It is so amazing to have this national park in our back yard. People come from all over the world to see this amazing lake. It is the seventh deepest lake in the world, it has fresh water that is the clearest found anywhere in the world. It is a wonderful site to see in the summer or winter. I have been there a couple of times, but I want to see it again as an adult, because I am sure I will appreciate it more than I already do. It is only an hour and 45 minutes away, so I think I am going to try and make a trip this summer to see it. There are many things to do at Crater Lake, but going just to see the beauty alone is worth the trip. It is a must see if you are ever in Southern Oregon.

Hiking is big here in 'the valley' as in the Rogue Valley. We are surrounded by great mountains - two of the most popular is Upper & Lower Table Rock. You can see them from anywhere in Medford, they are flat mountains, so they will certainly catch your eye. They are a beauty to look at. The trails are literally 15 minutes away from my home. I have never been, but I've heard the trails are steep and there are a lot of snakes. So... I think I am fine looking at it from my backyard (literally). But, I hope one day to hike it, I would LOVE to see the valley from atop.

3) Rafting the Rogue River
Nothing beats 90* weather and going rafting on the Rogue. It is a common staple for us here. My family and I used to go multiple times a year when I was younger. It was fun to get a rubber raft and float on the ice cold river with the hot sun beating down on us. The further down the river, the more dangerous it gets.
Fun fact: Parts of the movie, The River Wild, was shot on the Rogue River.
In the past years, my family and I have gone on the Hellgate Excursions, where a jet boat takes you through hellgate canyon. No matter how you float down the river, it is always nice to get out of the hustle and bustle and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

4) Skiing & Snowboarding @ Mt. Ashland
Another staple in the valley is snowboarding or skiing at Mt. Ashland, I have been snowboarding once, and let me tell you I was sore for a good two weeks afterwards. Props to skiers and snowboarders though, that is one adventurous sport.

5) Wine Tasting!
I totally saved the best for last. You guys, our valley is FULL of wineries. Del Rio, Applegate, RoxyAnn, ValleyView... and these are just the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. I googled wineries in the Rogue Valley, and there are even more than I thought. Um, okay - who wants to go wine tasting with me???!
via |
Okay, so there you have it guys, there is seriously so much more to do in the valley than what I have mentioned above. We are obviously surrounded by beauty here, and there are tons of things to do for the outdoorsy types, but there is tons more than that.
What are some of your favorite things in your towns?!

Friday Letters #10
Happy Friday Bloggie Friends!
Hope you all have a great Friday and an awesome weekend!
Linked up with Ash over at The Sweet Season.
Dear American Idol: Thank you for making my night! I randomly tweeted about your episode - and hash-tagged idol - and you REPLIED. Holy Moly Guacamole. Of course it was sarcastic, my kinda tweet. Gah. Follow me here
Dear Zumba: I am thinking about starting you up again. I have only gone once, awhile ago - and I hurt for days... but it was such a fun workout. It didn't seem like I was working out.
Dear Doggies: Thank you for being somewhat cooperative when I gave you two a bath the other night. You are now so fluffy and smell so good. Yay for freshly bathed doggies.
Don't they look adorbs?!
Dear January: Where in the heck did you go?! Seriously, next week you are over. It seems like you just started.
Dear Magic Bullet: I am so glad you were on sale for $10 off at Costco when I went to pick up a few things for work the other day. Come Monday, I am totally getting my smoothie makin on.
Dear Closet/Dresser: I am so cleaning you two out soon. Like maybe this weekend. Time to bless and release old stuff that I have been hanging on to. Out with the old... In with the new (maybe)
Dear Ashley: Thank you for making a post that consisted of nothing but 'Hey Girl' Pictures... followed by a hilarious video of Ryan Gosling reading some of them. Totally made my day when I read it. Check it out here
Dear Friday: Thank you for finally arriving. This week has been long, yet productive at work, but I'm ready for a little break. Hopefully one that is productive - I am thinking grocery shopping - cleaning - going through old clothes, etc etc.
Dear Weather: Thanks for warming up a bit. It was a nice surprise that I didn't have to warm up my car 10 minutes before work to de-ice it. But, can I say I am ready for some sunshine soon?? This girl is looking pasty.
Dear Soda: I am thinking about giving up for the month of February. I have actually decided on doing it - now I just have to make it happen. No Soda for 28 days..... bring it on.
Happy Weekend.
